I am a medical intern aspiring to pursue a career in orthopedic surgery, with a strong interest in surgical technique, clinical research, and healthcare leadership. I had the opportunity to lead and launch the first Orthopedic Interset Club at KSAU-HS. As this year’s deputy director, I am proud to help facilitate a platform that promotes education, collaboration, and professional growth within the orthopedic community.

My first Research in Orthopedic was conducted during my first year in medical school. Throughout the journey of my medical school, I published more than 15 researches in Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Wazzan S. AlJuhani, M.D., FRCSC, MBA, MMEd is a consultant orthopedic oncologist and limb reconstruction and knee surgery specialist at King Abdulaziz Medical City, Riyadh. Fellowship-trained in Canada, he leads the Orthopedic Tumor Program and MSK Oncology & Reconstruction Fellowship, he has a master degree in medical education and serves as Associate Professor at King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences. He has authored numerous publications, presented internationally, and earned multiple teaching and research awards. Committed to advancing surgical education and patient care, Dr. AlJuhani also volunteers internationally to provide specialized orthopedic surgeries

Dr. Naila Shaheen is MD by background, currently working as a Research Associate and a Principal Investigator in the Division of Biostatistics, King Abdullah International Medical Research Center.
Her research spans a number of disease areas including cancer, hematology, diabetes, mental illnesses, preventive medicine, women health, general and orthopedic surgery. She has advanced skills in drafting research proposals, study protocols, manuscripts, developing statistical analysis plan/ analysis reports, reviewing statistical analysis results, developing case report forms, structuring data/codebook, executing data analysis, and graphical display of the data. She serves as a reviewer for prestigious journals locally as well internationally.

Prof. Ahmed, MBBS, MSc, PhD, is a Professor of Anatomy at King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences, Riyadh, specializing in gross anatomy and neuroanatomy. He earned his PhD in Human Morphology from the University of Khartoum and served as a Visiting and Affiliate Research Fellow at the Leverhulme Centre, University of Cambridge, United Kingdom. His research focuses on skeletal morphology, anatomical variations, and forensic anthropology. Prof. Ahmed has supervised undergraduate and postgraduate research, served as an external examiner, and is an editor and reviewer for several international journals. He has numerous publications and actively contributes to academic committees and curriculum development.
Associate Professor of Neurophysiology/Neuroscience

Associate Professor of Neurophysiology/Neuroscience with over a decade of experience in teaching, research, and academic leadership. My work centers on neurophysiology, neuroscience and translational research aimed at improving motor function and neurological health. I’ve had the opportunity to lead clinical trials, support institutional goals, and collaborate with dedicated teams of students and faculty. With a focus on practical impact, I’ve contributed to research projects, secured grants, and shared findings through publications and speaking engagements. I remain committed to mentoring, learning, and helping shape a research culture rooted in integrity, curiosity, and service to both science and society.

Dr. Mona Bawazeer is an Assistant Professor of Pharmacology at the College of Medicine, with expertise in pharmacology education, medical research, and immunopharmacology. She serves as Assistant Head of the Medical Research Unit, mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students in research. Her work focuses on drug discovery for inflammatory joint diseases, with active contributions to interdisciplinary collaborations and academic publishing.

I’m a senior medical student at KSAU-HS with a strong interest in orthopaedic surgery. I currently serve as the leader of the Orthopaedic Interest Club for the 2025–2026 term, in collaboration with the Orthopaedic Surgery Department at MNGHA. I’m involved in multiple orthopaedic research projects and have led several awareness campaigns and initiatives focused on education and community engagement. My work centers on enhancing musculoskeletal health through research, leadership, and outreach, with a dedication to encouraging student involvement in orthopaedics and contributing to better patient care.
